I think we can all agree, no two people are exactly alike. But when we talk about employee behavior in the workplace, we have three main categories we use to identify employees within the workforce in terms of engagement.
“Creating a work environment where employees LOVE their job is not an easy thing to do but I am here to tell you that you CAN DO IT! ”
Before your begin making a plan on how to increase employee engagement in your business, take some time to look at your team and categorize them according to these three groups.
This group makes up only 27% of the workforce. These employees are described as loyal, problem-solvers, adaptable, and willing to take initiative.
This group makes up 60% of the workforce. These employees are described as apathetic, never go “the extra mile”, dispassionate, and see work as nothing more than a paycheck.
This group makes up 13% of the workforce…and it’s a good thing it’s not more! “Actively disengaged” is not an oxymoron; it means this group is going out of their way to disengage themselves and others within your business. This group is described as toxic, manipulative, gossips, show signs of bullying behavior, and disrespectful to coworkers. Identifying where your employees are in terms of engagement is an eye opener for most leaders. Creating a work environment where employees LOVE their job is not an easy thing to do but I am here to tell you that you CAN DO IT!
